Our Boy (the chatterbox)

This boy constantly AMAZES us! He has a memory like we can't believe and the things that come out of his mouth make us laugh and drop our jaws. He seems much older than his 21 months :) He is newly into insects and the spiders that inhabit his sandbox. Here is a typical converstaion about spiders. Jacob "I see spider, he's lookin at me, he's eatin somfin, what's he doin?" Me "what is that"? Jacob "its a spider" Me "how many legs does it have" Jacob (without hesitation) "eight" Me "what kind of animal is a spider?" Jacob "aracnid" Me "what other animal has eight legs?" Jacob "octopus, octopus lives in ocean, at aquarium"... Jacob is most happy to be outside running down the block or picking dandelions and putting them in the yard waste bin. He always wants to garden with Minga (my mom). He NEEDS the garden tools and uses the same ones every time. We take lots of walks looking for pinwheels and he remembers every house that has them in their yard. Jacob still loves books. Truck and construction books are still at the top of the pile but so are Rosemary Wells books, especially Max. He sits and reads by himself if I am busy and makes up the words to go with the pictures. He is super sweet and wild at the same time.
We LOVE our boy!!

"Can I hold her?"

Well Jacob is finally showing interst in Jocelyn and wanting to hold her. Once she gets on his lap he isn't quite sure what to do but seems pleased that he is holding her. I hope he will always be this sweet to her. And she is a good sport about it all and lays there patiently while he "holds her.

1 month old

I did take these on the 4th of May when Jocelyn turned one month old it has just taken me this long to actually post the pictures (both babies are actually napping at the same time right now!). Jocelyn has grown so much in the past month and has actully started smiling at us! She still sleeps a lot but is becoming more awake and alert. She has many nicknames already, most of them given by Jacob. Jossy Joss Boo is my favorite that he has made up for her! But most of the time he calls her Jocelyn-ny. We LOVE our little Jocelyn-ny!!

Jocelyn's first friend!

My friend Kathryn had a precious baby girl just 5 days before Jocelyn was born. Since we were both recovering from c-sections we didn't get to see each other for a few weeks. So the girls got to meet for the first time on Sunday! Here they are, besties all ready! Jocelyn and Nora relaxing on the couch. (Nora is in the pink shirt and Jocelyn is wearing the white shirt just in case you couldn't tell)
We are so happy to have such great friends and can't wait to play again soon! Kathryn and I are sure these two girls are going to get into a lot of trouble together :)

The BIG BROTHER!

How is Jacob 20 months old already? He looked SO big when I got home from the hospital. He constantly amazes us with what he says and does. He talks all day long and has a huge vocabulary. Everytime Jocelyn makes any sound he says "Baby Jocelyn is crying". He likes to tell "jokes" and when he says something funny or sees something funny he says "that's a joke" and laughs. He loves to read and has so many books memorized. Jacob also LOVES to go to the park and has had a great time having Daddy home for so long, they go out for hours and run!

What a sweet big brother he is!

Sitting on a wall like Humpty Dumpty!

Horray for a sandbox in our back yard! Grandma and Grandpa just brought it over this weekend and he literally spends hours at a time digging, building roads, and loading up the dumptruck.

Welcome Baby Jocelyn!

We can't believe that Jocelyn is already one week old! She has been a good baby, sleeping most of the time, eating a lot, and watching big brother Jacob play! Here are some pictures of her first week.
Here she is right after they pulled her out of my tummy getting weighed, measured, cleaned off a bit. Loved hearing her cry for the first time and couldn't wait til they brought her over for me to see her up close!

Meeting Jocelyn for the first time! I remember thinking what a girl she looked like, so PINK!

Mommy, Daddy, and baby Jocelyn. Just missing Jacob (he was at home with Grandma and Grandpa watching Thomas while she was being born)

Just hanging out at the hospital. Love the ones with her eyes open!

Time to go home!

The BIG Snow

We did get hit with a lot of snow, especially by Seattle standards. The roads were bad, Marc worked from home, and Jacob and I were stuck in the house. Jacob had a hard time walking in the snow/ice and kept falling and crying. I tried to pull him around the block in the sled then thought that at 7 months pregnant that might not be the best idea so we had to wait for Daddy to take a short break from work to pull the sled.

Yes we did let Jacob ride in the sled alone down a small hill...
