I got the pleasure of traveling to Fairbanks Alaska to visit a gold mine who is a customer of ours. I also got to go in November when it was still "warm" 4 degrees in the city and 17 at the mine. Here are some pics
Snow plows on the runway what did I get myself into?
Standing next to a Cat mine truck
The mine pit
Loading the trucks
The gold dirt goes in, this huge dirt pile at least 10 stories high.
The clean dirt with no gold comes out
View from the mine
After a hard days work we had to eat. We enjoyed prime rib at The Turtle Club. This was the medium 14 oz prime rib dinner and yes I ate most of it.
Where am I again?
Alaska Pipeline. It was kind of a let down.
I made it to North Pole Alaska
Starting to carve the ice sculptures for the World Ice Carving championships in March. Maybe I can come back and see them and enjoy the cold weather of -40 degrees.
